POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commissioning Manager will oversee the commissioning process for newly constructed plumbing and mechanical systems. This role involves ensuring that all systems are designed, installed, tested, and operating according to project specifications and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, possess technical expertise, be results-oriented, and will be capable of strategic thinking to ensure successful project closeout.

CORE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide accurate, thorough commissioning and verification for project systems to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Proactively review necessary projects to eliminate potential system problems before a project is turned over to the owner.

  • Under the direction of the General Superintendent, coordinate with the Project Manager to schedule all startup, TAB, and commissioning activities for assigned projects. Also, when directed, act as ICS’ spokesperson for project completion status.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Create, execute, and supervise project commissioning guidelines and deadlines.

  • Main point of contact and authority for system startups.

  • Participate in and manage onsite meetings for commissioning/startup.

  • Develop and oversee proper system functions by verifying design intent and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Troubleshoot and ensure quality solutions to system issues.

  • Assist and guide the project team (including subcontractors) in outlining individual responsibilities.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide technical support for any discrepancies found.

  • Work closely with the project foreman or general foreman to ensure accurate project communication.

  • Schedule and manage owner training when necessary.

  • Maintain closeout documents and provide updated forms when necessary.

  • Ensure safe working practices by identifying and mitigating possible hazardous situations.

  • Complete the job safety checklist.

  • Hold ICS team members accountable.

  • Lead the interviewing and hiring decisions for startup and commissioning technicians.

  • Develop and conduct technical training sessions.

  • Assign startup Technicians to Projects.

SALARY: $28 TO $45/HOUR
